International Children’s Day

This celebrates annually on 1st June focusing on children’s right, well-being and protection from abuse and exploitation. It originated in Geneva during the 1925 World Conference on Child Welfare and is largely observed across former socialist and Eastern bloc countries. It often involves community festivals, school activities and charity drives that emphasise the need to protect vulnerable children.

World Milk Day

This is an international day established by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations ton recognise the importance of milk as a global food. It has been observed on 1st June since 2001. The day is intended to provide an opportunity to bring attention to activities that are connected with the dairy sector.
