Turks & Caicos Islands Constitution Day

The islands adopted a constitution on 30th August 1976, and it became a national holiday. It was suspended in 1986, but restored and revised on 5th March 1988. Another new constitution was brought in in 2006, but was suspended in 2009 after the discovery of massive corruption and financial misfeasance by ministers. It was restored again after a general election in November 2012.
