Qatar National Day

This day commemorates Qatar’s unification in 1878 by unifying all the local tribes by combating external forces. The holiday was established in 2007 by decree of the then Crown Prince and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. It is also known as Founder’s Day. It is a national holiday and the public are given the day off from school and work. Celebrations include Fireworks, Parades and a Classic Car Show.
