Proclamation of Independence of Latvia

This day marks the anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of Latvia by the People’s council of Latvia in 1918 after the end of the First World War. Various events take place including concerts and fireworks. Torchlight processions are held by various organisations, and the Latvian National Armed Forces parade used to take place on this day, but now does on 11th November instead.
