Today celebrates the constitution of Puerto Rico which was approved on 3rd July 1952 and signed into law by Governor Luis Munoz Marin in the same year. The government of Puerto Rico hold a commemoration every year.

Today is Revolution Day in Egypt, which marks the anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution in 1952, which led to the declaration of the modern republic of Egypt. It is considered the national day of Egypt. Annual celebrations begin on the evening before, and involve military parades and televised concerts.

Belgian National Day Today is the national day of Belgium, celebrating the anniversary of the investiture of the country’s first ever monarch King Leopold I. Guam Liberation Day Today was when America starting recapturing Japanese previously held Guam in 1944 in the second World War.

20th July is when the Columbian Declaration of Independence was signed in 1810 in Santa Fe de Bogota. It resulted in the establishment of a Junta de Santa Fe that day, and resulted in the creation of the Republic of Columbia.

Nelson Mandela Day is celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela on 18th July each year. The day was officially declared by the United Nations in November 2009. Nelson Mandela was an influential figure in South Africa. The website for the day is here.
