Azerbaijan Flag Day
This is a state holiday established in 2009 to commemorate the anniversary of the adoption of the flag of Azerbaijan in 1918. It has been a non-working public holiday since 2009.
Cambodia Independence Day
This day celebrates the country’s independence from France in 1953. France started controlling the country in 1863. King Norodom Sihanouk began claiming independence from France in 1949, and in 1953 he was successful and France agreed to decolonise the whole country. A ceremony takes place at the Independence Monument, and celebrations take place in the capital city Phnom Penh. The whole ceremony takes place on national television and radio. Every state palace is decorated with some slogans related to the Independence, and lights. There are fireworks in the Chatomuk River located in front of the Royal Palace.
