National Panda Day

This day’s origins are unknown, however it was created on 16th March to bring awareness to the beauty of pandas in order to keep them from going extinct. In 1961, the World Wide Fund for Nature was formed and created their logo around the Panda, which meant the panda became a symbol around the world for conservation. In 2020, they moved to the “vulnerable to extinction” category after reproduction efforts in zoos, reforestation and conservation campaigns.
