Gaecheonjeol
This is National Foundation Day in North & South Korea, celebrating the legendary formation of the first Korean state of Gojoseon in 2333 BC. This date has traditionally been regarded as the date for the founding of the Korean people. It was established as a national holiday in 1909, and there is an annual ceremony at the Mausoleum of Tangun, the founder of Gojoseon.
German Unity Day
This day commemorates the German reunification in 1990 when the Federal republic of Germany (West Germany) and the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) were unified, so that for the first time since 1945 there existed a single German state. It has been a national holiday since 1990.
Iraq Independence Day
This day marks its independence from Britain in 1932. Until the end of World War One Iraq had been part of the Ottoman Empire, but following its collapse, Britain took control. But it granted independence to the country on this day in 1932. It became its national day this year.
