Advent

Advent is a season of the liturgical year observed in Christianity as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for both of the celebration of the Nativity of Christ at Christmas and the return of Christ at the Second Coming. It is the beginning of the liturgical year in Western Christianity. Traditions for the period include lightning an Advent Wreath on each of the four Sundays before Christmas Day and having an advent calendar.
