Uzbekistan Independence Day

The August Coup in the Soviet captail of Moscow in 1991 caused many Soviet republics to declare their independence from the Soviet Union. President of the Uzbek SSR declared Uzbekistan independent from the USSR on 31st August. The same day the Supreme Soviet of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution on the declaration of independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan and a law on the state independence of Uzbekistan. The laws were signed by the President, and it was renamed the Republic of Uzbekistan. The next day was then declared a national holiday, and a day off work by the government. It is celebrated with fireworks, concerts, competitions, military parades and wreath laying ceremonies are held in its capital Tashkent.

Slovakia Constitution Day

The current constitution of Slovakia was passed by the Slovak National Council on 1st September 1992.

Flag Day of Honduras

It commemorates the introduction of the first leader of Honduras on Lake Yojoa. Its flag was adopted in 1866, and certain events are organised across the country.

Japan Dolphin Day

This day was created in Japan in response to the brutal capture and slaughter of dolphins that takes place in the infamous cove in Taiji, Japan. This day calls on people to join them to show the Japanese Government that this is unacceptable.
