Today celebrates the Painted dog, as they face many threats in the wild, including loss of quality habitat and poaching.
National Dog Day
This day was founded in 2004 by Animal Welfare Advocate and Pet Lifestyle Expert, Coleen Paige. It celebrates all breeds, mixed and pure and serves to help galvanise the public to recognise the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year. It honours family dogs and dogs that work to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort to us.
